19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player won his initial championship for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, including in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better serve.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
